Highways in Nepal

The capital Kathmandu and major cities and tourist destinations of Nepal are inter-connected with Highways and roads. It is also a fact that Nepal does not have a well developed network of Highways of western standard. There are only a few highways with better engineering and a few more are on construction. The network of highways are from East to West and they are linked by North south highways and roads. Southern roads are connected with India and a few Northern roads are connected with Tibet in China. The list of a few Highways is illustrated here.

Mahendra Highway AH42, Pushpa Lal Highway, and Postal Highway are parallel highways from east to west. These highways cover terai plains, mountain regions, and Himalayan regions of Nepal.Mahendra Highway, Tribhuwan Highway, and Arniko Highway are also part of Asian Highway.
